Some users, particularly those running the standalone, are believing that the application is freezing after they run the startup script. A hint to visit the website address would help these users out. Confluence should attempt to retrieve the address from the server since even though proxies may change this then .

The Confluence server has started successfully - visit http://localhost:8080 to begin using Confluence
If looking up the hostname and port from the application server is a problem (Jeff's attempted this) then you could just have startup.bat check if it's the first run and display a similar message on first run only.
