In our system we have the issue, that very often, people open a page for editing, but don't edit something and close the page again. This creates a lot of unnecessary drafts.
This can be resolved by a simple change in the front end: As long as there hasn't been any changed anything in the draft window and the draft didn't start with "unpublished changes", the "close" button is replaced by the "revert to last published".
If you do want to close instead of revert in such a situation, you find the close button, where you normally find the "revert to last published" button.
As soon as the user makes some changes to the page, the buttons show as they do now and the close button is, where the users expect it to be.
Additionally, the "revert to last published" button can be renamed to "drop draft" while there hasn't been changes on the page.
