Description
Received a call from Apple today asking whether we could add support for attachments for files from the Apple Pages and Apple Keynote programs. Both of these file types are interpreted as directories in Windows but in an Apple OS they show up as files. When trying to add them as attachments from an Apple machine they are either not added (Firefox) or result in an error (Safari).
Work Around Information
For iWork '09:
- Preferences -> General:
- Untick the option Save new documents as packages
This work around will not affect existing documents.
For Pages 5.x:
- Right click on the Pages Document, and click Compress "Document Name"
- Attach the compressed document to the Confluence page
Pages 5 appears to have removed the ability to save pages as flat files. While it is possible to export the file in Pages '09 format (flat file); opening such a document in a newer Pages will ask the user to upgrade the format on saving.
