      Problem Definition

Microsoft had just released their first public release candidate for MS. SQL Server 2022.

      Suggested Solution

To officially support MS. SQL Server 2022 as one of Confluence's supported Databases.

      Why this is important

Confluence should be supported against Generally Available releases of Databases that have been supported on previous versions.

SQL Server 2022 production release was in 2022, and it's considered the current MS release.

For customers such as us, this becomes a critical path.  We are required by the government to meet NIST 800-53 requirements and remediate vulnerabilities.  We cannot migrate to cloud due to the lack of FedRamp certification, and cannot migrate past 7.16.5 until we do database upgrades, so the lack of availability of 2022 support will force us to build on an older version that once again loses support sooner than 2022 will.
