AWS has support for a special type of encryption for EFS mounts that allows for active transport encryption (as opposed to encryption at rest). This is beyond the normal capabilities of Confluence and Tomcat, which supports HTTPS/SSL and HSTS, but not this newer form of active encryption. The end result is that attachments will have a failure to render in Confluence.
