Issue Summary
Resizing Table Width on a long continuous text can affect other columns.
This is reproducible on Data Center: Yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Install Confluence
- Create a page and insert a 3x3 table
- Insert a long string in one of the column with only alphanumeric without any space
example
123456789123456789123456789123456789
- Enlarge all columns' width
- Try to reduce the width for the column that consists the long string
Expected Results
Only the column where the width is adjusted should have its width changed
Table Width Resize 7.13.mp4
Confluence 7.13 and before is not impacted by this behavior
Actual Results
The width for all columns were impacted when trying to reduce the width of a column to lesser than what was in the cell
Table Width Resize.mp4
Confluence 7.14.0 and above is impacted by this behavior
It doesn't matter if the width is set to Responsive or Fixed width
CJK characters and other 8-byte characters such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters are not impacted by this
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
