Confluence User Search unusably slow

      Username searches on large instances of Confluence running internal user management is several orders of magnitude slower than expected. Specifically, searching for users on http://confluence.atlassian.com can take approximately 10-15 minutes. This should take under 20 seconds, especially when searching for complete usernames.
