Setting Confluence default encoding to UTF-16 (without any prior precuation) renders 'chinese' characters for spaces...
It is also impossible to set it back to UTF-8. Confluence complains about empty parameters. It looks like some encoding problem POSTing the request.
It is maybe just an app server configuration in which case this should probably be documented.
