If you add a photo (or a comparable attachment) to a Confluence page via copy/paste, this photo will be inserted as an attachment and embedded and displayed directly on this page.
If you now remove this image (or any other attachment included in this way) from the page, only the link to the attachment is removed. The previous appendix remains on the side. In the case of larger pages, this can quickly lead to a page still having attachments that are no longer actively integrated on the page. An icon on the attachments overview would be helpful to see if an attachment is currently actively embedded or linked to a page. In this way, unused attachments could be identified more quickly.
