Issue Summary
When the user activates the "Today", "Next" and "Previous" buttons to change the months and dates in the table, the change of content is not announced to the screen reader user.
Steps to Reproduce
- Launch the URL
- Navigate to the main content area where the calendar for the space is present.
- Activate the "Today", "Next" and "Previous" buttons to change the date and months in the calendar.
Actual Results
In the calendar section, when the user activates the "Today", "Next" and "Previous" buttons to change the dates or the month, the content in the calendar table changes. This change in the date, month and year is not announced to the screen reader user. This will make them unaware of the change that is happened in the calendar content.
Expected Results
Ensure that screen reader users are aware of the information that is updated below while they are activating the "Today", "Next" and "Previous" buttons and are able to access the information.
Use appropriate ARIA Live region attributes to achieve this. Specify aria-live = “polite” to the container used to display the number of characters left information. This will ensure that each time the change in the Day/Date/Year is announced for screen reader users when they are idle.
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available
