Cannot watch a page if already watching the space

I am watching a space, and I get daily updates of all changes in confluence, but I would also like to specifically add my watch to certain pages. However, when watching a space, the 'watch page' icon is not available.

Two use cases:

1) watchers on a page are listed using the

macro. My name does not appear. this is deceptive when the 'watchers' list is to notify people of who will be notified of changes.

2) If I one day REMOVE my space watch, I would want certain pages that I am particularly interested in to remain 'watched'. As an admin, I watch spaces broadly at first until they take off of their own steam and a few key contributors are found. After the fact, however, there are a few pages that I'd still like to notify.

For now, i'll mark them as favourites, but then they quickly fill up my 'favourites' list.
