Confluence mangling links to URLs that include curly braces {}

We need to be able to make links to URLs that include guids with curly braces:

For example, neither of the following work:

This is an urgent issue for us, one of our newest wiki spaces is being used by a team that needs this to work. They are having no problem making links like these in twiki.
