Issue Summary
When adding 5 or more gif attachments to a Confluence page and then when copying this page including the attachments it can take up to a minute to copy the page. The more gifs added the longer it takes.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new blank page in Confluence
- To reproduce the issue you may find some gif files in this Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1G8rZflEGVHY7PqKl5fQYggDHbzFx3sCx?usp=sharing
- Add 5 or more gifs with a total size of approx. 30MB.
- Go to the page and choose > Copy.
- Choose a Location for the new page.
- Check "include attached files and images" checkbox.
- Hit Copy.
Expected Results
- Page is copied in less than 10 seconds.
Actual Results
When we add 5 gif files for a total size of 30.7MB, the process takes 26 seconds. When testing further, after adding one more gif to the page with a size 40.3MB and in total 71MB, it takes 58 seconds to complete the copying process.
Workaround
If it is possible to upload your Gif files to an external application, Gifs can be inserted in the page as web links by following the steps:
- Choose Insert > Files and choose Images from the web.
- Enter a URL for the image (for example, http://hostname/path/example.gif).
- Choose Preview to check that the URL and image are correct.
- Tap Insert.
Notes
- The issue is observed on Confluence v7.4.11 and v7.13.2.
- There are no specific log messages found in the Support Zip file.
