    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

confluence doesn't support the creation of alpha lists. likewise, it doesn't support alpha-numeric lists. You should be able to create alpha lists as well as numeric and bulleted lists. this makes numeric lists with subpoints apear cleaner, especially if there are a lot of sequential subpoints (bullets run together and are not easily referenced and multiple numbered lists nested in a numbered list are confusing)

This is essentially what i want to create
      1. information
      2. more information
      a. subpoint
      b. another subpoint
      3. more information

      and its reverse:
      A. information
      B. more information
      1. subpoint
      2. another subpoint
      C. more information

[CONFSERVER-7504] Should be able to create alpha lists and alpha numeric lists (alphabetic list items)

I just stumbled upon this because the way it chooses to order in alphabetical and numerical is insane. At one point when I selected numerical it did it alphabetical. When selecting it again it is now doing numerical. Why not just add alphabetical? Sounds like laziness.

This seems like such a basic essential feature to allow for custom numbering. Why won't you even consider this? Can we please re-open this ticket for consideration? Perhaps the new product manager would consider it since Bill looks to have left Atlassian 3 months after that post.

Thank you for raising this issue. While we can see how this feature would be useful, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now.

            Thanks again for your idea.

It's boring every day and unbelievable seeing colleagues around me not using lists but creating paragraphs with manual created a.b.c prefix ;/
