      Authenticated RSS feeds use basic auth with credentials configured in the feed reader to authenticate the user. When a feed reader downloads the images in the authenticated feed, it typically doesn't use the same credentials, so the image download returns an Authorization Required status.

      The end result is most feed readers won't show embedded images for authenticated RSS feeds from Confluence.
