The idea of a personal space is great, a place for individual users to keep their own notes, reference information, etc. And it's also a great landing place for others to find out about a person (e.g. current projects, skills and interests, etc). However, the way permissions are currently managed makes it difficult to use a personal space to satisfy both needs.
I would like to make my personal space restricted by default, meaning that all new pages are restricted to myself for read/write. However, I would then also like to make public selected pages like the Home page and a few others.
I'm pretty sure I read this somewhere on the Internet, but can't seem to find it now... that this would be called the Front Porch pattern. At least you could sell it that way as a feature if implemented, I won't claim any patent on the phrase.
Thanks.
