Switching between rich text and wiki markup causes the version history to get swamped by WYSIWYG formatting markup

One point about Rich Text vs Wiki Markup: the Rich Text editor has its own ideas about exactly how formatting markup should be inserted - using it on pages that have been marked up manually can throw the diff functionality off quite badly, making it look as if there are lots of changes and drowning out the one or two tiny ones that actually matter.
