    • Currently testing under Websphere Application Server with DB2, but our final implementation will be Tomcat/MySql in a Linux environment (VMWare virtual server)
    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

We are soon migrating all of our documentation to a Confluence site, and the strategy we had planned for new page creation by users was to have them prepare drafts in their own personal space, and then move the final page to the appropriate global space, according to a pre-defined structure. Such a strategy prevents us against having DRAFT pages in our production spaces. In order to enforce the strategy, we need to be able to track MOVES, so that we check if users put their pages at the right location.

In their present state, the Watch and Daily Summary e-mails are not helping us much for that purpose. When a page has been created and modified in the last 24 hours, it appears as CREATED in the Daily Summary e-mail, which is great! However, if a page was created yesterday, and then completed and moved today in the proper global space, it will only appear as LAST EDITED... in the Daily Summary or in the Watch e-mail subject.

We DON'T want to monitor every EDITED page, only when they're MOVED. Is there any way to realize this with the present Confluence versions? If not, it would be of great help if we could watch MOVED pages in any way (Watch, Daily Summary, RSS Feed or whatever else).

Thanks for letting me know if it can be realized now, or else what could be the timeframe within which we could expect this improvement to be done.

Thank you for raising this issue. While we can see how this feature would be useful, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now.

            Thanks again for your idea.

I definitely get emails in 3.2 when things are moved. Not sure about daily summary.

            Norman,

It is not possible to mark emails as MOVED at the moment.

As to timeframe, we cannot provide estimates on feature implementation/improvements. Please see this document for more information about how you can have a say on what gets implemented: http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/AfAB

            Cheers,

Our doc site is internal, and we don't want to implement a full approval system right now, just essentially checking the location of new pages within the structure. So having pages marked as MOVED would fill our control needs for the time being. Thanks for the cue anyway!

We are adopting the same strategy of drafting pages in your personal space, then moving to their final destination. Having these changes marked as moves vs creations or mods would be very useful.

Having a fully functional workflow system would be an even better solution. see CONF-4153 et al.
