We use Confluence for creating a standard 'web site' that consumers browse to, at least for some of our spaces. And, we link between the confluence portion of our site and the non-confluence portion of the site. However, because the links are 'external', Confluence includes the little external link icon next to these links. This is confusing to our users.
We suggest that you add the ability to disable and/or customize this icon (and potentially others).
Our current workaround is the change the confluence installation, and change the external link icon to an empty gif. Unfortunately, we can't do this by space.
