    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

I would like to know when you are planning to have support for Insight Custom fields in ProForma? This is crucial functionality for us to move forward with ITIL process implementation in Jira Service Management.

[CONFSERVER-69272] Insight fields support in ProForma forms

Just saying but is Confluence Data Center (CONFSERVER) the appropriate project for ProForma request? It should be Proforma Server & Data Centre (FORMDC) instead. Maybe also link to FORMDC-27

            1. Go to system --> REST API Browser
            2. Uncheck Show only public API's and search for/find insight/1.0/iql/objects
            3. IQL = the string of what you're looking for.  For example, objectType = Laptops AND status = Active  (Just a random example)
            4. Press Send button.  A URL will appear.  Copy this URL (everything except the (200) after the end of it)
            5. Go to Manage Apps --> ProForma --> Connections
            6. Add a connection - Name it - Connection Type = REST API, URL = the url you copied in step 4, authentication is up to you, but I use a token generated by an API user, cache results = up to you (This is how often the list updates/refreshes.  I use a low cache result when building it and reduce it later.
            7. Connect and it should give you an ok response
            8. Try setting Items to /objectEntries, ID to objectKey, and label to whatever you want.  NOTE - you may need to tinker with these settings based on your configuration.  It's likely different, but that's a common one that might work

Once this is complete, you can go to your form and add a field (likely a dropdown field) and use a data connection to connect to this.  Your insight objects will appear.  Note - This will provide a value in the form, but does not add the value to the actual Insight field.  You might be able to setup an automation for that, but that's a whole other frustrating battle.

Simply being able to add the Insight field to the ProForma form would be so. much. better.

@ Kevin Newby – How did you setup the data connection to your assets schema? I would be interested in this work around.

This is really important functionality that would make Forms much more viable and integrated.

Following up - We would really love to have Insight / Asset fields available in our forms.  This is critical.

We're able to setup a Data connection for these for now, but that's not the same as directly using the Asset field.  Please consider adding Asset (Insight) fields as options in ProForma forms.  Thanks!

            Hi Atlassian Team.

We have several occasions where we would like to tie a Jira Insight Asset field into a Jira (Pro)Form(a).

For Jira Cloud this has been released. Can you let us know if and when this can be expected for Data Center?

            Many Thanks,
            Jan

We have several Assets Schemas that we would like to use with ProForma Forms. Any updates as to when this will be available in DC????

            Hello,

do we implement it at all?

We have connected external databases to Jira Insight and now Assets, so over 1000 assets are listed there.

Furthermore, the Insight / Asset fields are also not available with project automation.

I can't change database entries manually in the workflow with a workaround for the amount of database entries that change daily in real time.

            It has become quite annoying.
Currently we only use ProForma as there is no decent alternative.

            Sincerely
