Slow performance on Firefox with Google toolbar "Subscribe" feature enabled

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Confluence, especially the dashboard is very slow to load on Firefox when using the Google toolbar with its "subscribe" feature enabled. See the attached image. With "subscribe" disabled Firefox is just as fast as IE. This problem does not happen with all websites that have RSS feeds so it's not specific to the Google toolbar.

[CONFSERVER-6803] Slow performance on Firefox with Google toolbar "Subscribe" feature enabled

The original issue is a "feature" of the toolbar – it downloads all the RSS feeds linked from the page before displaying it. It can be quite slow to download a large RSS feed from Confluence, which is why the page is slow to appear.

Can anyone confirm whether recent versions of the Google toolbar continue to exhibit this problem?

Thank you for opening this issue. I was really starting to wonder why my test confluence system took so long to load the dashboard, and pegged the server cpu at the same time.
