The behaviour of the 'Edit' button currently seems to be 'Revert To Saved'. When editing a page, then making changes, if a user clicks edit again the page reverts to the original saved version and erases the current draft without a chance for recovery. This means that all updates are unexpectedly lost. I tend to click on edit when previewing my changes with the intention of correcting a minor error, then find that I must restart from scratch.
When the user is currently editing and clicks on edit, it may be preferable to go to the exact same text being previewed (ie save a draft on edit click and display that in the default editor, rather than the original). I have confirmed this on CAC and that if a draft is offered, it does not appear to have any of the changes made since the page was loaded for editing. The date indicates that any drafts shown are either for a historically lost edit (eg yesterday) , or the very beginning of the edit, though I am not 100% thanks to the American timezone on the CAC.
