As a Confluence user I'd like to be able to enable AutoSave feature in an MS Office file from a Confluence page

Problem Definition

Currently, we don't have the option to enable AutoSave from excel when editing a file from a Confluence page either with Edit in Office or Companion App.

When using the Office Connector for example and trying to enable AutoSave we see a message saying it isn't possible and suggesting File > Save instead.

Suggested Solution

Integrate the feature of AutoSave to work with files being edited from a Confluence page

Why this is important

This is a feature a lot of users are already used to and would be really valuable to be able to use it in Office files in Confluence pages so the user doesn't have to worry about saving the changes manually.

Workaround

Manually save the file and the changes will be uploaded to Confluence.
