Description
Problem Definition
Customers that have Office Files (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc.) with Preview issues, tend to try the instructions from the KB article below:
According to the KB above, the instructions mention that after clearing the contents or simply moving the folders
<confluence_home>/viewfile, <confluence_home>/shared-home/dcl-document/, <confluence_home>/shared-home/dcl-document_hd/ and <confluence_home>/shared-home/dcl-thumbnail/ and right after, restarting Confluence, the file preview cache will rebuild, and documents should render as expected. That does not seem to be happening. It seems that users need to re-preview the files they need, on an ad-hoc basis, to have the preview re-created.
Suggested Solution
One customer suggested an automation to recreate this content at startup, such as we already do for other types of cache. For them, this would be very useful, since they would like to have the preview available for all files.
Workaround
Currently, after you clear the file preview cache, the users apparently have to preview the files again ad-hoc to recreate the preview.
