Issue Summary
If Google Translate Extension is installed in the browser, having text selected when saving/updating a page will cause the extension's icon to be added to the bottom of the page.
This icon cannot be removed later when editing again.
Environment
- Any Confluence version after 6.13
- Chrome browser
- Google Translate Extension installed
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a page;
- Set the Translate Extension options to a different language than the one in Confluence and to display icon;
- Edit the page, add some text and click on Update without any text selected;
- Edit again, select some text and click on Update;
- Edit again and check for the presence of the icon;
- You need to open in Source Editor to remove the section containing the icon.
Check the attached video for details.
Expected Results
The extension's icon, that is not displayed when the Editor is open, should not be added to the page's storage format when text is selected.
Actual Results
The extension's icon is added to the page's storage format and visible when viewing the page but not when editing.
Workaround
Set the Google Translate Extension option to "Don't display icon or pop-up" to prevent this issue.
For pages where the icon was added, use the free Source Editor app to remove the icon's section, as seen on the attached video.
