Issue Summary
On new installations the Global blueprints are not populated which also causes an empty template page under Space Tools until a user clicks the ••• 'Create from template' button.
Note you do not need to create a page from a blueprint/template, you can close the window. All that is required is you click three ••• next to create. Then the Global Blueprints are populated and Space Tools now shows templates.
Steps to Reproduce
- Fresh Confluence installation (Or one where no one has clicked Create from template)
- Go to:
> General Configuration > Global Templates and Blueprints
- Notice there are only 3 Space blueprints and 3 System templates - missing the Global page blueprints
- Go to a Space > Space Tools > Content Tools > Templates
- Notice there are zero templates listed
- Click the ••• Create from template button
- Close the window without creating a page
- Go to Global Templates and Blueprints or Space Tools templates and you will now see a fully populated list. Global page blueprints are now listed under Global Templates and Blueprint templates are listed under Space Tools templates.
Expected Results
All available templates are loaded and available to edit upon install before clicking on Create from template or creating a page from a template.
Perhaps triggered during the onboard process for example.
Actual Results
No Global page blueprints are listed or any templates under Space Tools.
The only default blueprints under Global templates are the following:
- Knowledge base
- Team Space
- Documentation
Workaround
You must click on ••• Create from template. There is no need to actually create a page, you can either close the window or create a page and the blueprints/templates will now be populated.
