Creating a page from a template with macro remove the links on the macros

      Issue Summary

When a template with a macro that links to content is created and, subsequently , creating a page from it. The links are stripped from the macro.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a page template.
      2. Insert a macro that links to some resource, e.g., an excerpt macro linking to a page. This happens with other macros that link to content as well.
      3. Save the template and create a page from it or edit it again
      4. Instead of the linked content and random error is thrown.

      Expected Results

      Macros show linked content

      Actual Results

Nothing is shown on logs. Macro does not have the link to the content. The links are replaced with unnamed link.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround fro this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available.

We can reproduce it on 7.2.1 on several customer instances.

What is the timeline to resolve this problem?

Based on your own policy this is a Major severity bug:

A feature is unavailable, application performance is significantly degraded, or users job functions are impaired.
-application performs slowly and fails intermittently
-application is functional, but frequently used gadgets or macros don't work
            -application links fail
            -specific editing features fail
            - or a Severity 1 (critical) issue where there is a viable workaround.

As for our case, we have several hundred templates used daily for all our processes. Without links and mentions our team effectiveness is drastically reduced. This must be prioritised. There is no workaround for this. We have over 200 users affected by this.
