Issue Summary
Preview/Excel macro uses US date format (MM/DD/YYYY) for Excel documents containing dates in European format (DD/MM/YYYY)
Environment
- Confluence 7.2
Steps to Reproduce
- Create MS Excel document.
- Add date to one of the spreadsheet cells in European Format for example 30.12.2019 or 30/12/2019
- Create new page upload above document to the page.
- Add new Excel macro and by using previously uploaded Excel document
- Save the page
- Preview the page,
Expected Results
Date from the spreadsheet cell is displayed as 30/12/2019
Actual Results
Date from the spreadsheet cell is displayed as 12/30/2019
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
Possible of help, in Excel, right-click the cells and select Format cells... > Date > English[United Kingdom]. Then the date formatting of preference. Once uploaded in Confluence it will show correctly.
Additional notes
Above bug occurs regardless of user language profile setting or global language setting in Confluence
This affects my customer on 8.5.x as well
