Description
Issue Summary
Rebuilding the search index in the UI in Confluence Data Center as explained in this KB article will run the reindex only on the node in which the task was triggered.
However, restoring a Space with "Build Index" checked will trigger a full site reindex on all nodes, which can cause heavy load to the database and filesystem.
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to Confluence Administration > General Configuration > Backup and Restore.
- Under Upload a site or space export file, click Choose File and browse for your space export file.
- Check Build Index box.
- Choose Upload and import.
Expected Results
- The site reindex is expected to be executed only on the node that triggered the space import and not on all nodes simultaneously.
- If a full site reindex should run on all nodes, then it should be done in a serial and unparalleled way (one node at a time).
Actual Results
- A full site reindex is triggered on all nodes concurrently.
Workaround
Uncheck "Build Index" and Rebuild The Content Indexes manually after space import.
