The "Insert numbering column" feature is very useful – and I personally use it daily.

Confluence Server could also use an "Insert checkbox column" feature.

Working very much like "Insert numbering column", the "Insert checkbox column" button would simply add a column containing a single checkbox to each row in the table.  

This would allow a long list of rows to instantly be transformed into a task list!
