    Description

      Problem Definition

Currently running the upgrade using the installer, calls for a chown and chmod on all the home directory. In case of big home directory folder, this can take a lot of time and increases the downtime of Confluence.

      Suggested Solution

Would be great if you could change the code in the upgrade to instead ask the user yes/no - if we want to run chmod and chown. And/or also this option in the varfile

      Workaround

You can opt for a manual upgrade process where you will need to download the installation archive file (.zip/.tar.gz) and follow the steps as described in Upgrading Confluence Manually to attempt an upgrade without having to run any of the ownership change commands "Assuming that they are correct".
