      Issue Summary

Whitespace added after a table within a bullet list or numbered list is removed when the page is published or previewed

      Environment

Observed in Confluence 6.6.16 and reproduced with Confluence 6.15.8

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a numbered or bulleted list
      2. After a few points, insert a table
      3. Add another point after the table
      4. Attempt to add white space after the table by pressing enter (or shift-enter, a common Atlassian community suggestion) or enter and a few spaces. The editor shows white space added between the table and the next item in the list.
      5. 'Preview' or 'Publish the page. The white space is not displayed.

      Expected Results

What is displayed in the editor should remain in the preview/published version.

      1. Item 1
      2. Item 2 with table

      Heading 1 Heading 2
      Col A1 Col A2

      3. Item 3

      Actual Results

The list shows no white space after the table.

      1. Item 1
      2. Item 2 with table

      Heading 1 Heading 2
      Col A1 Col A2

      3. Item 3

      Workaround

Four workarounds have been tested, although they are admittedly clunky.

      Workaround #1:
      1. After adding/editing the table, press ENTER. This creates a new bullet point below.
      2. Press backspace (this deletes the bullet point)
      3. Press the space bar twice.
      4. Click 'publish' or 'preview'. The single line of white space is preserved.

      Workaround #2:
      1. Insert a 'section' macro underneath the table. This appears in the editor but shows as white space in preview (or published version).

      Workaround #3:
      1. Use the source editor to add html after the table: & nbsp;<br/>
      2. Publish the page

      Workaround #4:
      1. Click "+" (insert more content) and select 'Markup'
      2. Insert markup "\\ \\"and press 'preview' or 'publish'
