Filename for drafts include a version number that we want to maintain, but want to have Confluence also maintain a version history when uploading.

Suggested Solution

When uploading a file with different filename, allow option to select existing file that it matches with to maintain version history.

Workaround.

1. Insert the file into your page by following Display Files and Images
2. Preview the file by clicking on the file thumbnail or link on the page.
3. When previewing the file, in the top right there is an "Upload New Version"
4. After the new version is uploaded, a pop-up will appear providing the option to add additional comments on what changes were made.
