Description
Issue Summary
When editing a Confluence page on Microsoft Edge, the "Find" feature (and by extension, the "Replace" feature) do not work correctly - the text on the Find field is not searched for or highlighted.
Environment
Windows OS, using the Microsoft Edge browser (tested on Windows 10, Microsoft Edge 44.17763.1.0). Issue is reproducible on a fresh Confluence installation, with no browser add-ons on Edge; not reproducible using other browsers.
Steps to Reproduce
- Edit any Confluence page
- Click the magnifying glass at the top of the editor header bar
- Insert some text on the Find field, and click "Find"
Expected Results
The page will be searched for the selected word, and the Confluence editor will highlight it.
Actual Results
Nothing happens when the "Find" button is clicked - consequently, the "Replace" function can't be used (and "Replace all" does not work either).
Opening the console from the Edge browser tools, we see the following message:
Object doesn't support property or method 'createTextRange'
This error is returned every time the "Find" button is clicked.
Workaround
Use different browser (Chrome/Internet Explorer) or the browser's "Find on page..." (Ctrl+F) option.
