Summary

Pasting content using Ctrl-V in Edge breaks Page Editor and will no longer be able to perform any action on the page.

Any actions made during the freeze (clicking the page) will result with a popup:

"Localhost is not responding due to a long-running script"
(If Confluence is hosted on localhost)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Have a page that contains a code block macro, and some texts
   • Copy the code macro or
   • Copy the text
2. put cursor below
3. Press Ctrl-V to paste

Expected Results

Content selected get copied

Actual Results

The editor freezes and we can no longer edit the page nor save/close the page.

Notes

• Issue observed on Edge
• Issue observed on other macros as well:
  • NoFormat
  • Excerpt
• Issue observed when copying images
• Issue does not seem to exists when the page only contain texts
