No more option to apply fixed width setting to tables on exported PDF

XMLWordPrintable

      Summary

There is no more option to apply fixed width setting to tables on exported PDF.
It was actually supported in Confluence 6.2.1 ~ Confluence 6.13.0.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a wide table with fixed-width setting on a page
      2. Export the page as PDF

      Expected Results

      1. If fixed-width setting is applied to the table, the table should be shown with fixed width on the exported PDF
        • If the table is potentially wider than the PDF width, it can't be helped that the table is cut-off on the exported PDF
      2. If responsive setting is applied to the table, the table should be shown responsively on the exported PDF
        • Even if the table is potentially wider than the PDF width, the table should be shown without cut-off on the exported PDF

      Actual Results

The table is always shown responsively regardless of responsive / fixed-width setting.

History of table column width problems

      1. Before Confluence 5.10.x
        • Due to CONFSERVER-34390, users have no option at all to export long tables without cut-off
      2. Confluence 5.10.x ~ Confluence 6.2.1
        • Thanks to Confluence 5.10.x release, Confluence started to have an option to set responsive width to tables
Actually, these versions of Confluence had worked as described in Expected Results section in this bug report.
      3. Confluence 6.2.1 ~ Confluence 6.13.0
        • Due to CONFSERVER-54275, all the table columns are shown with the same width regardless of responsive / fixed-width setting
      4. After Confluence 6.13.0
        • Tables are always shown responsively regardless of responsive / fixed-width setting ← Now!

      Workaround

There is no workaround so far.
