Thumbnails should display "Click to enlarge" or a magnifier icon on top of images automatically

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Problem:
With the small size of thumbnails, when there's only one single thumbnail image in the middle of text on a page, it's often hard to tell it's an image. And the visual presentation is somewhat strange.

      What we do currently:
Add the text 'click to enlarge' manually as part of an image title as shown in the screen capture.

      Improvements:

      • Thumbnails are displayed with a magnifier on top automatically.
      • One step further: Users can view the original image by hovering the mouse over thumbnails after a certain amount of time, say 0.5 or 1 sec, instead of having to click them.

[CONFSERVER-57703] Thumbnails should display "Click to enlarge" or a magnifier icon on top of images automatically
