Problem Definition

• The current Edit With feature goes hand to hand with the Atlassian Companion application that allow users to dynamically edit an attached file using its native desktop application, then automatically save the file back to Confluence.
  
• There are certain scenarios where the users utilize different applications to view and edit images

Suggested Solution

• Provide an option to choose either edit or view the image and pull the application list from the system so users can choose
• Additionally, allow the users to set default edit / view application within Confluence (or maybe Atlassian Companion app) so they don't have to get prompted every time they open the attachment
  

Why this is important

• Unless you are editing images often, previewing image in graphics editor will consume more resources.

Workaround

• Change the default application to edit / preview the image on the OS level. For example, How to set default apps on Mac
