Default 'Description' field is not marked as required in the Jira issue creation dialog in Confluence

Summary

When the default 'Description' field in Jira is marked as 'Required', Confluence does not show an asterisk symbol in the issue creation dialog when trying to create an issue by highlighting words.

If we proceed with the issue creation with this field blank, it uses the value of the 'Summary' field as the description.

How to replicate

1. Create an application link between Jira/Confluence.
2. In Jira, mark the default 'Description' field as required.
3. Confirm that creating an issue in Jira shows the asterisk * symbol next to the 'Description' field.
   
4. In a Confluence page, highlight some words and choose to create a Jira issue from it.

Expected results

• The 'Description' field should appear and be marked as a required field using an asterisk.
• If the field was left blank, it should also prevent the issue from being created and prompt an error message.

Actual results

• The 'Description' field is not marked as required.
• If the field was left blank, the issue creation goes through and it uses the value of the 'Summary' field as the description.

Workaround

If needed, use a custom field called 'Description' to replace the default one. If the custom field is marked as required, it will be reflected as such in the issue creation dialog in Confluence.
