      Problem Definition

If the maximum number of editors are editing a page, these users will block other users from editing the page indefinitely, as long as those users have the editor open. This can lock pages for an unreasonable amount of time if editors are left open (e.g. if a user leaves an editor open overnight).

(In addition, the session will not time out, as noted in CONFSERVER-56344 & How to adjust the session timeout for Confluence)

      Suggested Solution

Give admins functionality to boot certain users from the editor.

This way, if a page is locked at the max editors for an extended period of time, and end user can contact the admin to boot a user from the page.

      Workaround

Restart Confluence to end all editor sessions.
