When a user is given permission from a group in an external user directory, and the case sensitivity of the name of the group in the external user directory does not match the group in Confluence, the user is unable to search for content, but is able to view it if given the link directly.
How to replicate
- Create a user group in Confluence "testgroup"
- Give "testgroup" Confluence can use permission, and permission to a new space, "testspace"
- In Jira for example, create a new user group called "Testgroup"
- Create a user and add them into this group in Jira.
- Connect Jira to Confluence for user management and synchronize.
- The user will now be found in Confluence, in the "testgroup" user group.
- They will be able to view all pages and content in the space, but if they were to search, there will be no results at all.
- If given the link to the page directly, they can view it.
