      Problem Definition

Currently init scripts for LSB applications do not contain LSB dependency info, which means Confluence may attempt to start before or at the same time as its database backend. It fails to access its database, and therefore fails to start.

      Suggested Solution

For LSB applications, put all the supported databases under Should-Start instead of Required-Start. Then Confluence after whatever databases are installed on that host.

      Workaround

You can add a customized LSB comment block.
