Close prompt to discard changes or view changes doesn't show when there were changes made in a "unpublished changes" page

    Description

      Summary

When a user edits a page to a page and the window forcibly closes (without being saved as a draft), the "unpublished changes" lozenge shows up next to the page name under the "Recently Worked On" section without prompting the user again with a discard changes option or to show changes made in the past.

      Environment

      • Can be reproduced in 6.7.0, 6.7.1

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a test page with content and publish (to mimic existing content)
      2. Go to the page and add a string of words
      3. Close the Confluence window (the page will not be saved as a draft or be discarded)
      4. Open Confluence and see the page with the "unpublished changes" lozenge next to it
      5. If you click on the page with unpublished changes, don't make any changes (even though there are pending changes from step #2), and you click the close link in the bottom right. Confluence doesn't prompt you with the "Close the editor" screen to show changes, discard all changes, or keep as draft, for modification you made in a past session.

Another scenario with the same results:

      1. Create a test page with content and publish (to mimic existing content)
      2. Go to the page and add a string of words
      3. Click Close in the bottom right corner and click Keep Draft on the "Close the editor" screen
      4. Locate the draft in Recently Worked On" section (where the page will display with an *Unpublished Changes lozenge to the right of it
      5. Click on that page and then click Edit
      6. Click CLOSE without making any more changes
        • You will not be prompted with "Close the Editor" screen

      Expected Results

When there are pending unpublished changes on any page, Confluence should show a discard or keep changes prompt.

      Actual Results

If there are pending unpublished changes on a page not saved as a draft and you click edit to see the changes made before publishing, the page just closes without the keep/discard changes prompt.

      Notes

Only if you make a change to the page on the secondary session, will you get the prompt to keep as a draft or discard changes. This has major impact since the user cannot view or discard changes made to a page if they choose to not save it as a draft immediately.

      Workaround

Add a small change (such as a space) to the document after clicking edit on the unpublished changes page. Only then will Confluence recognize the change made during the previous and current session when clicking the "Close" option in the bottom corner of the page.
