Description
Summary
When doing document imports, duplicate titles are not renamed correctly even if the 'rename duplicate' option has been selected.
The problem appears when the subsequent import that is already in the space, Confluence instead of renaming the title, it overwrites the existing title with the same name. And afterward, the pages behave like a mirror, clicking on the existing title will link to the newly imported page.
Environment
Confluence 6.1
Steps to Reproduce
1- Open a page from the 3 dots in the page choose Import to Word document
2- Choose file to import
3- Import Word Document: Configuration
4- Where to Import: Import as a new page in the current space
Title Conflict: Rename imported pages if page name already exists
Split by Heading: Lebe1 Headings
Choose Import
5- Warning showing You are about to create the following page: choose Continue
NB: To be able to reproduce make sure in Configure Office Connector Plugin
Import From Word: The option: Warnings: Show a warning before allowing a user to perform an import is ticked as per screenshot
Expected Results
We should be seeing two different Page tree sequence in the child pages as attached screenshot
Actual Results
When customers choose to Replace existing pages with imported pages of the same title to resolve title conflicts, Confluence overwrites the existing page with new content but also "move" it from its existing parent to a new one.
