    Description

      Problem statement:

URLs in Word, Pages, Google Docs, etc. are automatically formatted in these respective applications to be links with the URL itself as the link text. When copied and pasted, this formatted text is respected by Confluence and it is pasted as a Link to the URL with the URL as the text (instead of being converted into a JIRA Issue Macro link).

      Suggested resolution:

When pasting a formatted link where the link URL matches the link text remove the formatting and allow Confluence to then process the URL as it would if pasted as plain text.

This will reformat any standard URL into a Link with the URL as the text, but will allow links to JIRA issues to be formatted as JIRA Issue Macro links.
