Steps to reproduce:

RSS feeds on page works nicely.
Go to Administration/General Configuration, press Edit, pres Save (without Save, bug does not occure )
RSS feeds starts to render as:
rss: Error parsing RSS feed: sun.io.MalformedInputException

Solutions:

restart Confluence, everything works fine til next Configuration edit
wait a while... (20 minutes or so?) some timeout times out and it works on
