MySQL 8.0 will be GA shortly, it would great to get support for Confluence.

I see this is in status Waiting for Release and fix version is 7.2.0.  Can you give us an update on when this is expected to be released?  Thanks.

Premier support for MySQL 5.7 will end in October 2020 (less than one year away).

It's our understanding that at that point, the cost of support for 5.7 will have 10% increase.

We need to start planning our MySQL 8.0 upgrade strategy,

Since this ticket has been opened+1year ago, Atlassian should now ensure to support the latest MySQOL V8.0 drivers on short notice for all of their products.
The problem exists for JIRA, Bitbucket, Crowd, Bamboo as well.
