      Current behavior
Currently, Team Calendar gadget cannot be viewed in Jira. If you attempt to display a Confluence page that contains a Team Calendar macro, you will instead see this error:

Error rendering macro 'calendar' : No enum const class com.atlassian.confluence.content.render.xhtml.ConversionContextOutputType.PAGE_GADGET

More information: Cannot Display a Confluence page with a Team Calendars for Confluence macro in a JIRA Page Gadget.

      Desired behavior:
Make a Confluence page with a Team Calendar macro able to be displayed in a page gadget in JIRA.

I like to use Confluence Calendars to keep track of team PTO as well as organizational deadlines, events, holidays, etc.  It would be very handy to view this information in a team Jira Dashboard.  I feel like a dedicated Gadget just for Confluence Calendars would be the best solution as you could limit the functionality (think of it like a "read-only" version of a Calendar, but with a click-through to jump to Confluence for more detail and functionality) while still providing the value of a Dashboard to provide visibility into upcoming items, etc.

Since the Issues Calendar doe not display the epic the issue type is assigned to, my team is finding it very tedious to have to click in to the issue to find out what deliverable each calendar item is associated to. my solve was building a confluence page with a JQL filter displaying the epic and the key to match them with the calendar displayed below. Once i built that page i tried to integrate it into the team dashboard with the confluence page embedded and got the error described above. While i realize there is multiple ways to configure different gadgets on the dashboard to get this result, it would be far more efficient to make 1 gadget to rule them all.

I'm trying to create a dashboard to prep a tightly interdependent set of teams' releases. I have a Confluence page that I created to show day / week / and month views of the preparation activities on a calendar for easy visualization of the work. I want to add this page to a Jira dashboard that has a dataplane report with all the tagged fix versions. But since the teams calendar is not compatible with the Jira/Confluence page gadget, it's much less useful to us. I vote to increase this fix' priority

Let's be honest, this isn't a feature suggestion, this is a bug. You offer a functionality (ie. putting a Confluence page in JIRA) but the moment you do, you're met with an error. That's a bug by nature.

We are trying to integrate the confluence team calendar in Jira project dashboard view . Error in displaying the calendar.

The Team Calendar in Confluence shows Jira cards much better than the Jira Issues Calendar gadget. But when using the Confluence Page gadget in Jira it throws an exception as noted in the description above. Seems more like a bug in the Confluence Page gadget. So my vote is that this is a Bug in the current gadget and not a Suggestion.

In our project channels we track products within an issue workflow. Those issues then are a part of Epics that are essentially our project container. Using the Team Calendars within our Jira instance helps to manage the overall Epic and resource allocation. Visually it helps PMs and Managers to understand workload and would allow a greater reporting capability to see utilization.

I'd like to add that our Confluence 5.8.10 instance crashed twice due to someone adding this gadget with a Team Calendar to their Jira dashboard.

After the gadget was removed, the instability disappeared.

Note that we are also affected by CONF-38232 and TEAMCAL-2633, so instances having the correct datatypes may not see such severe effects.

Hi Adam, thanks for getting in touch! I've actually realised that I misunderstood the requirement and I closed this in error. I'm going to reopen it and make the title a bit more detailed. Thanks again!

            Hi Denise,

Which version of JIRA did you use to test this? The same error still exists using JIRA 6.1.3, Team Calendars 4.1.4 and Confluence 5.3.4.
Did you successfully visualise the calendar in JIRA?

            Hi Kim,

I've tested this in Confluence 5.4.2 and Team Calendars 4.1.4 and this functionality works correctly. I'm not sure exactly what version it was released in, but if you're on an older version, consider upgrading to take advantage of this feature.

I'm going to close this off as obsolete.

Our use case is to display a Confluence page with a calendar containing combined events on a JIRA Wallboard, available in a public space for disseminating information. Alternatively we would be happy with a dedicated calendar gadget.

The Confluence Page gadget available in JIRA displays this same error when an embedded calendar is included.

Mizan, thanks for the context, that's helpful.

It's not visible in the page gadget because it wasn't designed to work in gadgets.

The issues are unassigned because we don't have them planned to work on. We've got 100's of issues and they get assigned to someone once we have them scheduled in the roadmap. This currently isn't, I'm leaving it open to work out demand from other customers. Thanks for the feedback.

            Hi Sherif ,
The dates are for designs , for example design due date , design review date , Client Review date , Demo date and a few more .
Do you know why the team calender is not visible in the page gadget ?
and why both the issues TEAMCAL-350 and TEAMCAL-862 are unassigned ?

            Thanks

Thanks, what kinds of dates do you display? Are they for software projects? or for something else?

            Hi Sherif,
I need a calender that can display multiple custom date fields in a single calender on Jira dashboard but this is not available, the Jira Calendar plugin provides calender which shows issues for a single date field.
Team Calendars provides Jira calenders , i can have multiple Jira calenders with colors in a single calender view.

            Hi Sayed,
Thanks for raising this issue. It's also related to a feature request we've been thinking about: TEAMCAL-350.

I'm really interested in hearing why you want to see Team Calendars from Confluence in JIRA?

What kinds of things do you want to see in JIRA? What purpose is this for? Who would use this feature?
