As a user, I'd like to be able to move events from one existing calendar to another existing calendar.

In this case, the current calendar owner is leaving the company. Because we can't change the owner of the calendar itself to a different user, we'd like to move the events to a different calendar, and we can't do that either!

The only option we see is a pain: Recreate the calendar from scratch.

[CONFSERVER-50136] Ability to move events from one calendar to another

            Hi,

Just came across this need today as well, and it seems the functionality is not there? I had an event added to the wrong calendar, so I wanted to move it. Quite surprised that does not seem to be possible.

            Hi Samy,
Restrictions - that can be done with anyone with edit rights (if you can edit the calendar you can add other restrictions)
Space associations - correct, sorry I missed that one.

I think your feedback is incorporated by TEAMCAL-879. I've renamed that issue to be in general more reflective of all the things the admin can do.

            Hi, Sherif.

Thank you for your prompt reply!

Is changing the name truly the only thing that only a calendar owner can do? What about user restrictions? calendar description? space association?

Maybe I have misunderstood how calendars work, but what we need is to be able to administer a team calendar even after the original creator has moved on. Since we couldn't change ownership, our workaround was to try to move calendar events to a new calendar. Clearly passing calendar ownership would be a better/easier solution.

(If I have misunderstood how calendars work, perhaps this is really a request for more detailed documentation about how the plug-in works, including what can be done by whom ....)

            Thanks again,

            Sami Moran

Hi Sami, at the moment the main thing the calendar owner can do is change the name of the calendar which no one else can do. We have an open issue to fix this one (TEAMCAL-879). I'm just wondering if that's the only issue then do we need to implement the ability to move events? Is there any other reason why you want this if the calendar owner has left?
