Possible to disable calendar-related notifications for a user?

      When Calendar events are created and/or modified and are associated with a specific user, is there any way to disable the related notifications sent to that user? The user is not watching the page or the Calendar, and would prefer not to receive notification emails for every event created/modified for him by the office staff.
